Tiger Woods ends 27-Year partnership with Nike | Golf | Sport

Tiger Woods and sportswear giant Nike have parted ways after more than 27 years.

The 15-time major golf champion has used the brand since turning pro in 1996, earning up to £394million as a result.

It was one of the most lucrative partnerships in the history of sport.

Alongside a picture of himself with his mother Tida and Nike founder Phil Knight, Woods, 48, wrote: “Over 27 years ago, I was fortunate to start a partnership with one of the most iconic brands in the world.

“The days since have been filled with so many amazing moments.”

“Phil Knight’s passion and vision brought this Nike and Nike Golf partnership together and I want to personally thank him, along with the Nike employees and incredible athletes I have had the pleasure of working with.”

TaylorMade, the golf equipment brand, is favourite to announce an enhancement on the deal it already has with Woods.
